I bought new and am very pleased with the very quiet operation. OK, the electric power won't get me up a steep hill alone without adding a little pedaling, but is great on most hills and a big help everywhere else. The electric motor assist is great - really -- it is quiet and very noticably helpful and now I am not tired when I get to work! I have a six mile commute with some hills. It has three modes; strong assist, medium assist, and no assist but with a throttle twist adds motor (and entirely off for enjoying just as a regular bicycle without power.) With the assist the bike knows when you're pedaling and adds power (strong, or medium) for you. The torque seems consistent throughout the shifting speed range (I like that.) The regular hand brakes also stop the power assist so it is a very good safe design. The bike itself is very good for my weight (I'm over 6ft tall.) and the front disk brake work suprisingly well in the rain. The Shimano shifters work really easily. It... Read more |
